PRESS RELEASE

AIR TRAFFIC IN THE CZECH SKIES INCREASED BY 8 % YEAR ON YEAR

Airlines’ interest in using Czech airspace continued in 2025. Over the past year, a total of 769,039 movements were recorded over the Czech Republic, representing a year on year increase in traffic of 8 %. .

Traditionally, July was the busiest month in terms of traffic, with nearly 85,000 movements. The highest daily traffic was recorded on Monday, 28 July 2025, with 2,907 movements. The average daily number of movements in Czech airspace reached 2,107 in 2025. The company’s largest customer in 2025 was the Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair, followed by Wizz Air and Lufthansa.

The company fully met all performance targets set by the European Commission and ensured the necessary capacity for airlines, which increased year on year by 12 % in Czech airspace during the summer season. The level of delay reached 0.09 minutes per flight, while the target set for the Czech Republic was 0.19 minutes per flight. The company was also able to take over part of the traffic from congested airspace in Germany and Austria, thereby contributing to an increase in the overall capacity of the European air traffic management system.

„Once again, 2025 confirmed that we are capable of sustainably handling growing demands on both capacity and the quality of services provided. Even during an exceptionally strong summer season, we managed to keep delays within the prescribed limits and thus helped mitigate the impact of missing capacity across Europe. We are entering 2026 very well prepared in terms of staffing, capacity, and technology for the further expected increase in traffic”, said Jan Klas, the company’s Director General.
