Today, the Technical Cooperation Arrangement (TCA) and support for the development of ATM in Afghanistan has been signed by the ANS CR Director General, Jan Klas and Head of the Afghan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) Dr. Mohammad Qasim Wafayezada, in Prague and Kabul.
The signing of the TCA shortly follows the results of the January visit of the Afghan delegation to the Czech Republic, organised by the Ambassador to Kabul Jiří Baloun. During the weekly visit, the Afghan party had the opportunity to get acquainted with the systems, technologies and processes of education used in the conditions of ANS CR, as well as with the production programs of the Czech supply industry.
The signed document identifies the basic area of cooperation in building the necessary capacity of the air traffic management system in Afghanistan, including the introduction and development of modern technologies or training of air traffic controllers and technical specialists.
One of the key areas of the future cooperation will be the use of Czech experience and "best practice" in the area of recruitment, selection and training of air traffic controllers and technical specialists for the needs of new implemented systems and technologies in local conditions.
In the technical area, it is about consulting and expertise of the Czech party in the design and implementation of the optimal solution for specific Afghan conditions. The added value of the Czech party will then lie in the position of an integrator of systems verified in the operational use and based largely on the Czech industry.
“We are ready to work closely with our Afghan colleagues and provide them with our know-how in building and implementing a suitable air traffic control service architecture. We are also very interested in educating a new generation of aviation personnel for the needs of Afghanistan", commented ANS CR CEO Jan Klas on the signing of the TCA.
“The Czech Republic is traditionally one of the most advanced European countries in the quality and level of air navigation services provided, as well as in the domestic and foreign technologies used. I believe that the first step towards mutual cooperation, which we took today with the signing of the TCA, will soon contribute to the further development and strengthening of the safety and quality of air navigation services in our country" , added the head of ACAA, Dr. Wafayezada.
